My moment in time scared

I was walking down the stairs. I could hear the wind howling against me. I smelt the smell of spices. I see a shadow around the corner of the stairs. I keep on walking I hear banging in the kitchen even though know one was here exeped for me and my uncle but he was upstairs. Should I go down stairs and find out what the noise is or go back upstairs. I take one more step and Ahh!!!!

Shaval, Charlotte and Selestine's Mars Rover Learning Story

Learners: Charlotte, Shaval & Selestine
Learning Coach: T.Dillner           Date: 07.03.16
Learning Area: iExperience - Space                Key Competency: Thinking
Learning Observed
The learners had six activities to choose from to extend their knowledge about Space. Charlotte, Shaval and Selestine chose to take part in one that required problem solving and thinking skills. They had the option to make either a Mars Rover or a Satellite and picked to do the Mars Rover. With the provided materials, Charlotte, Shaval and Selestine had to make a connection between their own version and the image that was shown on the screen. The girls showed curiosity by using the materials in specific ways and both tried to use as much detail as possible in their creation. Charlotte, Shaval and Selestine collaborated by sharing ideas and possible ways to overcome issues, ultimately being very pleased with their final product.

Literacy Circle Narrative Assessment

Learner:Katherine, Selestine, Norah, Gracy, Aryan and William                              Learning Coach: Mr Hattie         Date: 3 March 2016
Learning Area: Learning Habitat 1 - Literacy
Learning Observed
For literacy the Death Star group are starting Literacy Circles. This is a learner book club where they are in charge of their learning and have roles they need to perform in the group meetings about the text. We started with breaking down what we view as an effective group and the different things we need to accomplish for the literacy circle. We brainstormed many ideas and created a wordle to present our findings. Also we did the same for what an effective group member looks like. We had our first meeting today and we managed to get through most of the roles before the time was up. This means that for next time the learners are going to have direct the meeting and not get of topic. This will help the learners break down the text and understand it better. The learners have been showing the Vision Principles of Capable and Collaborate as the learners are working as a group and having to use the reading skills and strategies they have to produce a high understanding of the text.
